We are planning to hold this fun weekend over the bank holiday weekend, with
the main organised event being on the Sunday based at Mudeford (mid way between
Southampton and Poole)-hopefully to gain participation from boats based at as
many locations as possible.
Some boats may be based or launched at either Mercury or Poole, or if able to
use the fairly good slip at Mudeford (this slip is quite shallow and there is
car and Trailer parking BUT the route out to sea (albeit short) is very shallow
and difficult at low water (Springs on the w/e concerned)!
Attendance can be for the whole weekend or a part only.
The Plan is outlined as follows: but after speaking with Mercury, they cannot
yet confirm whether they have any spaces for us overnight!-so there may be some
alteration to the events!
Saturday 28 August
As the tour guide phrase goes "this is a relaxation day"!, anyone planning to
make a weekend of it, can get on the water and choose their own agenda for the
day. I am sure that there will be a few club members out and about on this day,
so there will probably be the opportunity to link up and cruise in company. Let
me know and I will send out a list of who is going planning to be around on
which days.
Sunday 29 August
Meeting time at Mudeford will be mid morning. Boats based at Poole or
Southampton will need to be ready to leave about 1 hour before the "to be
confirmed" mid morning start of proceedings at Mudeford. Boats planning to come
from other locations will need to let me know so I can arrange rendezvous points
and times.
BBQ (bring your own food and disposable barbi's!)
The day will be exclusively about fun-ringos, water skiing and wake boarding (or
for the more leisure based boater laughing at those trying to do the above!)
Monday 30 August
For those who still have limbs not to beaten from water skiing and ringo's there
will be an easy cruise from Mercury to either Portsmouth or Cowes for an early
lunch.
I would ask anyone interest to email or call me to express their interest as to
the event and let me know whether they need a berth at Mercury. Also to let me
know how many family members they may be bringing along.
As with any event of this type, we will be subject to the weather.
Tide times at Mercury;

P.S I would very much appreciate assistance on the days with co-ordinating the
launching at both Mercury and at Mudeford, plus some beach side co-ordinators on
the Sunday to assist with the organisation of the BBQ and water toys-Volunteers
please!
