Weymouth - 19th – 20th June 2004Weymouth and West
The annual trip to Weymouth is near, and I've just been roped in to organise.
Visitor marina berths in the picturesque port town of Weymouth are limited, and have to be confirmed in advance, so if you are interested in attending, or require more information, please contact me very soon.
Solent based boats will be meeting off Yarmouth in the Solent on Sat 19th for a relaxed cruise to Weymouth, and we will meet any boats who wish to depart from locations en-route, such as Poole. We will aim to stop at one of the very stunning bays on the Dorset coast for a break. If the weather is calm, we can optionally head out round the infamous Portland Bill and tidal race into Lyme Bay for a look see for those that have never been there before.
We are aiming to cater for those who would like to try a medium length trip for the first time, as well as the more experienced, so if you’ve thought of exploring a little further, but didn’t have the confidence, now is your chance to take a trip with some old hands and experience helms to guide and assist you, and to take care of any questions you might have.
It is a very attractive stretch of coastline, so bring your cameras.
Anyone wishing to trailer their boats to Weymouth can launch from Weymouth or Castletown, Portland. Contact me for more information.
We'll dine out in Weymouth Saturday night, and if you are the hungry sort, the Sunday morning cooked breakfasts in cafes along the waterfront are monster blow outs!
We are returning on Sunday 15th , probably with a stop at Studland Bay . Last year the conditions were amnazing, with flat calm water and burning sun - can't promise, but can hope!
If you are without boat that weekend, or simply don’t want to take your boat that far, there will be hot seats available. Please contact me now if you would like to come
