Boat Sealine 240 FLY BY 2  Shared with Mark Keohane.

The event will start and be based in Salcombe Devon.

Relevant Charts are nos 28, 1634, 1613 Stanford 13  Imray C6 Y48  OS 202

Low tide times on Saturday are 08.07 1.7m, 20.36 1.8m, if you do not want the mud then allow 1.5 to 2 hours either side of low tide until familiar how much mud is exposed. Times are BST

Dependant on which way you approach you will need the A381 into Salcombe when getting close to Salcombe you will come into Malborough which is a 90 degree left on a road junction with a filling Station and 8 till late shop immediately on your left which has a good entrance and car park at rear but watch the exit as you need to take care, the road then has some narrow points before arriving in the top end of Salcombe  with a filling station on your right which if used you will need to be prompt when exiting as the cars fly past. Continue on until sign on left states Car park, Health centre, coach and boat park turn left and it is down hill all the way with a 90 degree left at the bottom and eventually a turning on the right signed car park, follow the road all the way to Batson creek boat park with a kiosk. Liase with the parking attendant or if early find yourself a place to prepare the boat. The Harbour Authority and council are very hot on payment and you're boat trailer will even require a numbered cable tie.

There are Toilets and a tap you can connect a hose to to wash your trailer and top up with fresh water if required. Even though the slip way is very large you must prepare your boat for launch before reversing onto the slip as it is always hectic. The wall alongside the slip can be used for short term holding of your boat whilst collecting passengers and kit but the fishing boats have priority.
I will be at the boat park from 09.30 Saturday to assist with launching.

You may be requested to prove the Boat has insurance.

Please collect a Salcombe Harbour guide from the boat park attendant as there are many regulations that we are required to follow and are important reading. I will have a copy with me and can explain the finer points.

The car parking is £6 per day payable in advance
The Trailer parking is £4 or £5 per day dependant on length
Harbour dues are £2 per metre per day
Mooring dues are £1.50 per metre.

I will liase with the Harbour Master re pontoon moorings as I have provisional asked for places to be provided at the bag,  (not allowed to book). These are in my name.

THE SPEED LIMIT IN THE HARBOUR IS 8 KNOTS WITH MINIMAL WASH AND THEY HAVE RADAR GUNS.

VHF channel 12 is the water taxi
VHF channel 14 is the Harbour Master. 01548-843791
The fuel barge is VHF channel 6 but may not be open .

The operating channel for Pathfinders will be 77. As is usual club rules must be adhered to with particular emphasis on the new solas regulations including Radar reflectors.

Virtually any thing you require for a boat is available in island street which is parallel to the car park.

The bad news is the top karten weather report for the first three days of our visit is not brilliant but I intend to be there regardless.
